Resit policies across providers
Exams & Credentials · updated 2026-09-07
Attempts, waiting periods and capped grades vary a lot. Check before the first sitting.
| Rule | Common range |
|---|
| Attempts included | 1-2 |
| Wait between attempts | 14-30 days |
| Resit fee | 20-90 |
| Grade cap on resit | Pass mark only, sometimes |
| Attempt limit | 3-5 lifetime |
Before the first attempt
- Find out if the resit grade is capped. It changes whether to sit early.
- Check whether the wait period blocks your certificate deadline.
- Confirm the fee is per attempt, not per module.
