How employers verify online credentials
Exams & Credentials · updated 2026-09-07
A PDF proves little. A verification URL or a register entry is what gets checked.
| Method | How reliable |
|---|
| Public verification URL | High |
| Professional register lookup | High |
| Digital badge with issuer metadata | Medium-high |
| PDF certificate | Low |
| Screenshot | None |
Before you enrol
- Ask whether the certificate has a verification link.
- Check the link stays live after your subscription ends.
- Confirm your legal name will appear, matching your ID.
