Sync conflicts happen when two devices edit while one is offline. Design around that.

Conflict sources

• Editing on a phone with no signal, then on a laptop.
• Two apps writing the same folder.
• Cloud folders that sync on a delay of minutes.

What reduced it

1. One writing device per session. Read anywhere, write in one place.
2. Plain text files. Conflicts stay readable and mergeable.
3. Close the app before switching devices.
4. Weekly backup outside the sync service.
